Mr. Mudu grew up chalking cartoons on the Bushwick streets of Brooklyn during the deadly crack era. His desire to share those comic-book recreations with his childhood friends was the impetus for him to start facilitating poetry and Career Day workshops at several New York City public schools in 1994 for another generation. He worked with several organizations to reach the youth:
El Puente Learning Academy
Helped the Latino community organization become DOE accredited while providing art and educational workshops
Medgar Evers Center for Black Literature
Facilitated writing, art & performance workshops focusing on analyzing contemporary and classical forms of spoken word, performance poetry and hip hop

Young adults from this Not-For-Profit speak about college, goals and decisions from a ‘Big Brother’ or ‘Big Sister’ POV
Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute
Ten week ‘Dynamics of Modern Poetry Workshops’ across NYC for decades at various public schools
